Often described as firm and meaty, we find the pioppino mushroom has a desirable sweet nutty flavor. It combines well in pasta, risotto, and meat dishes. Use anytime “wild mushrooms” are called for and you won’t regret it.
The pioppino is a highly prized wild mushroom found primarily on or around poplar trees, however it is also easy to cultivate at home using this liquid culture and our Supplemented Sawdust Block w/ Rye Grain Pocket. It can also be grown in the garden from mushrooms logs, or create your own mushroom logs at home using our plug spawn.
Note: Culture supplied as living mycelium in solution in a sterile 10cc syringe with unattached 16 gauge needle. Culture can be stored under refrigeration for several months. Use to directly inoculate Sterilized Substrates and Media.
