Three pounds of rye colonized with shiitake mushroom, Lentinula edodes. Rye grain spawn is prepared under sterile conditions in medium sized autoclave bags. Frequently used to spawn bulk substrates such as sawdust, this spawn also works great for inoculating wooden dowels to make your own plug spawn.

Spawn is shipped completely colonized and ready for use in inoculating other mediums. We ship it clean and contamination free, however due to the nature of this product we cannot offer any replacement guarantee for mis-application of the spawn. If you find your spawn to have been compromised in shipping, or arrive with contamination present, please let us know ASAP and we'll get you a fresh bag in the mail. 

As with all fresh mushroom product we highly recommend this spawn be utilized as quickly as possible upon receipt. Spawn may store for a few weeks under refrigeration, but this oyster mushroom varity is known to begin fruiting even under these conditions.
