How do I place an order through PayPal?

PPaypal payments are accepted directly by our secure online cart. Simply add the desired items to your shopping cart using the buttons provided on the item pages. Choose the "Checkout with PayPal" option to pay immediately, or continue shopping and add additional items to your cart. When ready, choose the Checkout button and proceed through our secure checkout process. You will be allowed to choose the PayPal payment option when you have entered your order information and selected your shipping method. Simple and easy, your order will be shipped quickly and you will receive email notification with tracking details when it is on the way!

How do I place an order through the mail?

Add the desired items to your shopping cart using the buttons provided on the item pages. When you are ready, click to Checkout. Begin by providing your address information. NOTE: to complete a mail order payment, you must provide a valid email address in order to receive a copy of your invoice or confirmations. You may still checkout as a guest, and are not required to creat an account. Complete your order shipping details and select your desired shipping method from the available options.  Select the "" option under the "How Would you like to Pay" menu. Include any order instructions or comments, agree to terms and conditions, then click the "Continue" button. A confirmation screen will appear with these additional instructions:

Once you've provided payment, your order will be completed. Check your email or your order history (if you created an account) to find your invoice. If you chose not to create an account, you must use a valid email address to complete a mail order. If you do not see an email within a few minutes of submitting your email, please check your bulk or spam folders for emails from "orders@everythingmushrooms.com". Once you have your invoice, simply print it and mail it along with payment to:

If you are unable to print your invoice, simply send your payment along with your ORDER ID number from the top of invoice. Make check and money orders payable to "Everything Mushrooms". All payments must be in US Dollars ($). You will receive an email when your payment is received and another when your order ships.

When are orders shipped and how soon can I expect my order?

Orders are packaged and shipped within one or two business days of payment. We ship every day Monday through Friday. Shipping may only be calculated through our shopping cart upon placing order.  PO BOX ADDRESSES MUST USE THE POST OFFICE, AS UPS DOES NOT DELIVER TO PO BOX ADDRESSES.  If customer provides an address that is not deliverable, customer must pay re-shipping charges. Orders placed on Friday after noon EST through Sunday may not be packaged and picked up by our carriers until Monday or Tuesday. Transit time depends entirely on the delivery method chosen during checkout. We offer UPS Next Day Air and 2nd Day Air services, however this does not always guarantee you will receive your order within one or two days. Orders requesting, and paying for Express or Air shipping services are given priority and we do everything possible to get them out the door as quickly as possible. UPS doesn't deliver on the weekend, and they do not consider weekend days in their delivery guarantee. If you place an Air or Express Order on Thursday or Friday, you may not get it until the following Monday or Tuesday. If you require expedited shipping, it is best to contact our office by phone. We work hard to ship our customers' orders as quickly as possible, however please understand our small office is not Amazon.com and we do not have the shipping resources of major online retailers. Tracking information is emailed to the customer for each order as soon as it is available.

Lost or Stolen packages are the responsibility of the consumer to make a claim at their local Post Office.

Are there any restrictions for shipping living mushroom tissue outside the USA?

Yes, there are restrictions for shipping living tissue to some countries. Living mushroom tissue including mushroom cultures, mushroom grow kits, and mushroom spawn cannot be shipped to Australia or New Zealand. Customers in countries with similar import restrictions should check their local regulations. We are not able to stay current on every import restriction. The ultimate responsibility for knowing what can be imported lies with the customer. Everything Mushrooms can not be held responsible for seized or refused packages due to import restrictions. No refunds can be issued in these cases. Restockable merchandise that is safely returned to us can be refunded, minus 20% restocking fee and original shipping charges. 

What is your product cleanliness and sterility guarantee?

 Pre-sterilized un-colonized products such as rye spawn bags, PF Tek jars, and pre-poured plates are NOT guaranteed due to dependency of customer care and knowledge with these products to produce desired results.  These products MUST be used within 2 days after receipt of purchase for best results. 

Mushroom culture syringe products are tested for viability, and are NOT guaranteed, as success depend upon customer process and treatment of cultures upon receipt. Pre-colonized products such as ready-to-grow kits, blocks, grain and plug spawn should be refrigerated until ready to use, and are all guaranteed sterile for 30 days after receipt of purchase. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY SALE ITEMS OR BARGAIN PRODUCTS. Due to dependency of customer care and knowledge with these products to produce desired results, we do not guarantee replacemtents or refunds of these products beyond mold issues.  Should you find any of these products unclean or contaminated, contact us WITHIN 30 days of receipt, and we will make arrangements for replacement. There is NO guarantee if not contacted within 30 days of purchase.  Please note that some ready-to-grow kits may eventually mold during their normal fruiting lifetime, this is natural, especially if the kit has already produced several flushes of mushrooms.  For this reason, customers should USE PRODUCTS WITHIN 1 WEEK OF PURCHASENote to International customers: due to increased exposure and potential of longer transit times, we can not extend our standard replacement guarantee to customers receiving pre-sterilized product outside the USA.

What sort of support do you offer by phone?

We love to talk to folks about mushrooms! However, please understand our phones are in place to service customer orders and general product inquiries. We are not a mushroom cultivation support hot line. Please accept our apologies if we are unable to answer all your questions in detail or address technical issues at length. Our staff will be happy to recommend the valuable and informative resources available to us, these books and videos will address all your questions and inquiries in much deeper detail.  We only offer mushroom cultivation consultation services at a negotiated contract rate. What types of wood can I use for mushrooms logs?

You're looking for freshly harvested, disease free hardwoods. You'll want to cut the pieces about the length and diameter of your leg. You can also use the same practices to plug stumps and larger rounds, incubation and productions times may increase accordingly. Wood should be plugged within six weeks of harvest. Avoid wood that has had prolonged contact with the ground. Shiitake mushrooms perform best on white oak, although red oak is a close substitute. Other similar hardwoods will work, but not as well. Lion's mane mushrooms prefer beech. Oyster mushrooms work well on poplar, Although we have not had much luck with oysters on oaks, other growers report success with the denser woods. Avoid evergreen hardwoods, soft woods, and conifers.

Does Everything Mushrooms hold workshops, demos, or classes about growing and cooking mushrooms?

YES! We are expanding our events calendar to include more workshop, demos, and classes. We host workshops at our facility in South Knoxville and we often travel to other locations to perform demos, workshops, or participate in discussion groups. East Tennessee offers an incredibly diverse mushroom ecosystem. We are blessed to have a fairly abundant wild mushroom season spanning April through early November. Our good friend and collaborator Dr. Whitey Hitchcock has been foraging wild mushrooms in the area for decades and has recently expanded his services to include private guided mushroom tours for small groups.
